    Christof Innerhofer was born on December 17, 1984, in Bruneck, near the province of Bolzano, Italy. He grew up in Gais, South Tyrol, where he currently resides. His father, Gottfried, worked as a mechanic before retiring, and his mother, Maria, worked various jobs to support her son's skiing career. Maria even worked night shifts at a bakery to save money for Christof. Innerhofer was introduced to skiing by his father when he was just three years old. He often stayed with his older sister, Sabrina, and took skiing lessons.
